Motorhome parking areas in Arsèguel, Fígols i Alinyà i Organyà
The Alt Urgell County Council has obtained financing with European ERDF funds for the CAMINA PIRINEOS programme, which consists of the creation of a network of paths on demand as a tool for ecotourism positioning in Alt Urgell.
Within the project, the action in axis 4 has proposed investments in support infrastructures, especially parking areas that serve both to increase the number of visitors in motorhomes and to improve access to existing resources, improving the ecological conditions of the parking space and providing, ordering and regulating access to public use of spaces or facilities to facilitate the visit and discovery of the natural values and the whole environment.
The locations and proposed sites for the motorhome parking areas have been agreed with the relevant local councils in accordance with the availability of municipal land and the need to organise and regulate access to the areas of interest for the promotion of tourism in each area, which are described for each site, and in accordance with access to the minimum necessary water and electricity supply services, provided that this is economically viable.
The motorhome parking areas are listed below:
Arsèguel
In Arsèguel, a motorhome parking area of 85 m² for two spaces has been set up in the same parking area around the church of Santa Coloma. The village of Arsèguel is considered one of the best-preserved mountain villages at the foot of the Cadí in the region, and is part of the project of the Network of charming villages of the Diputació de Lleida, with requirements of quality and tourist excellence linked to the Romanesque, cultural and landscape heritage. This small facility has also foreseen, apart from drinking water and lighting services, a prepared area for cleaning grey and dirty water for motorhomes to promote visitor stays in the area of more than one day.

Organyà
Organyà
In Organyà, a 985 m² service area for motorhomes has been created for nine places as a facility linked to hiking and paragliding adventure sports, as it is one of the privileged places to fly and see the Pyrenees. It has tandem flight activities, a flying school and facilities suitable for beginners and advanced pilots, which means that sportsmen and women and users from all over the country and abroad visit the site all year round, and can use the parking area with water and electricity services. A paved service area has also been provided for the cleaning and draining of grey water and sew
age from the motorhomes. This facility has been proposed to concentrate and unify a single site for vehicles that are currently scattered in different areas of the municipality and the centre of Organyà, with other camping and catering services, and which can extend the stay in the municipality to more than one day if necessary.

Fígols
In Fígols, an 892 m² service area for motorhomes or vehicles has been built for fifteen vehicle spaces as equipment linked to the activity of hiking and the activity linked to the adventure sport of climbing. Specifically, there are a series of climbing routes of interest to climbers throughout the valley of Fígols and Coll de Nargó, and one of them, the route called Roca Narieda, coincides with the area planned as a service area for motorhomes and vehicles, which also provides access to the vertical and walking route of the same name. It is in this place, which is normally used as a parking area on the access road to the Obach de Fígols farmhouses, that the development of a parking area is planned to avoid the current congestion of vehicles and saturation of the area. In this case, it is more a problem of regulating the saturation of vehicles staying for a few hours or half a day than for more than a day's stay, as these are short-stay activities. A car park with drinking water service is planned for this site, which will be used as a deterrent.
