Estamariu

Romanesque church from the 11th century with a basilica ground plan of three naves, influenced by Lombard architectural typologies. It is a remarkable building due to the complexity of its layout, more typical of monastic or larger-scale temples. It served as the parish church of Estamariu until the mid-18th century, when it was replaced by the church of Sant Vicenç and Santa Cecília in the town center. From then on, it became the cemetery chapel. It preserves one of the few sets of Romanesque wall paintings still in situ throughout the Pyrenees.
